English Schooling Horse Show #3 Powassan

Powassan is located in the Almaguin Highlands north of Muskoka, west of Parrysound and south of North Bay.  Almaaguin Highlands is known for amazing beaches, cottage resorts, bed and breakfast, motels and cottage rentals.
At the beginning of May go to Powassan for the annual English Schooling Show #3 hosted by Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre.  This annual events brings out lots of visitors with free admission and there is also refreshments available.

Inaugural Huntsville Western Rodeo Royale

Over 250 rodeo competitors as far away as the United States and Brazil will be in Huntsville, Muskoka around the end of July.  This event takes place at the Huntsville Fairgrounds towards the end of the month featuring bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, tie down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, junior barrel racing and junior bull riding.
There will be food vendors, demonstrations by the Canadian Cow Girls drill team, clown, bullfighters and Saturday night dance.  Tickets for the Huntsville Western Rodeo is $16 for adults, $8 for children under 10 and free for infants.  Parking will be $2 on the grounds.  A portion of the money goes to local charities.

Trillium Spring Show at Knowlton Ridge Equestrian Centre Powassan



The Trillium Show in Powassan draws about 80 riders from across the northeastern region in Ontario. Riders compete at the A Level and then on to the nationals.

This show is held in the spring and fall of every year. The top riders from this show goes on to Toronto to compete and then the nationals. The Ontario finals are held in Orangeville in September.

Knowlton Ridge has its outdoor show ring designed to meet the provincial hunter and jumper show requirements in order to be approved for hosting Trillium events. In the near future Gord Cardwell owner of Knowlton Ridge in the Almaguin Highlands is hoping to host A Level shows also at the same location. The Almaguin Highlands is a great place to get out and enjoy horses year round. The area offers horseback riding, wagon rides, horseback lessons and sleigh rides.
